Nosy Mitsio is an island off the far north west coast of Madagascar. Males from the Nosy Mitsio Panther chameleon locale are often called “Mafana” or “Soabana” Panther chameleons by breeders. Male nosy Mitsio panther chameleons are green with orange-red eye turrets, and slight red barring. When displaying, the body color typically changes to a vibrant yellow with green bars, with some bright red barring on the legs and tail, as well as around the eyes, lips, and in the gular region (pouch under the chin).
